Clare - Blue Health Coach & SUP Instructor
"When we connect deeply with nature, we remember that we're part of it. That knowing heals us, and it turns us into stewards of our wild water spaces. That's the heart of everything I do.Cami and I bonded over paddling, water & wellbeing back in summer of 2021 - since then we’ve co-hosted so many retreat days I can’t even count and I even joined her trip to Slovenia in 2025, it was bliss!"
Follow the water. It knows the way.
I spent fifteen years as a commercial property lawyer before a traumatic period in my life, the water helped me through it, sending me in a completely different direction. What followed was a decade of paddle cleanup expeditions (the width of Britain, the length of Wales and the Scottish Summer Isles), women's retreats, and a realisation the outdoors wasn't just good for me. It was the work. I now help others feel their place in the ecosystem, not just visitors but part of it. When we know that, two things happen. We heal. We take care of the places that heal us. Connection becomes stewardship.
I'm now an ASI Level 2 SUP Instructor and was part of the very first cohort of Blue Health Coaches back in 2019. I'm also a qualified life coach, NLP Master Practitioner and Mindfulness Leader. That same why drives my day job leading a national network of ocean activists as Senior Communities Officer at Surfers Against Sewage. For me, healing ourselves and protecting our waters are one and the same. My story features in Jo Moseley's book Adventures on the Water: The Power of Paddleboarding to Change Lives, and in Paddler Magazine's June 2026 issue on blue health and SUP.
These days I live in North Wales with mountains on one side and the sea on the other, paddling the glacial waters of Llyn Padarn. Progress over perfect. Wild places over boardrooms.
Cami and I first met on Instagram during the pandemic, bonded over a shared love of paddling and the sea, and went on to co-facilitate SUP & Soul retreats together as the world opened back up. This year we reconnected on the ASI Blue Health for SUP course in Portugal, so working together again feels like coming full circle. I can't wait to co-host with her again!
